St. Louis: Preservation Square

A $29.5 million Choice Neighborhood Initiative Implementation Grant to the Near North Side Neighborhood in St. Louis will be used to transform Preservation Square through partial demolition, renovation, and reconstruction to create 695 units, including 342 replacement and 7 live-work units.  Under the 1-for-1 replacement plan, 67 units will be ported to the nearby St. Louis Brewery Apartments to recapitalize this unique and historic property, in close proximity to the new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. All housing will be sustainably designed, constructed, and managed to high-quality, market-rate standards surrounded by redeveloped and reconnected infrastructure and significantly expanded and improved recreation, management, and community spaces.

Housing Stability

Through intense case management and strategic partnerships, we seek to follow the changes in the following items. Our dashboard highlights the data associated with the bold items:

  • Families actively engaged in case management’
  • Families in active case management completing a goal
  • Adults in active case management completing a goal
  • Families in active case management who have completed a goal related to housing stability
  • Households with a decrease in risk score since baseline
  • Households with a risk score higher than 100

Income & Employment

Through intense case management and strategic partnerships, we seek to follow the changes for families actively in case management for the following items:

  • Employment rate among able-bodied adults (18 to 64)
  • Average household income
  • Average earned household income (this excludes households with $0 earned income)

Education

Through intense case management and strategic partnerships, we seek to follow the changes for the following items:

  • Children age 0-5 enrolled in an early learning program
  • Children and youth engaged in enrichment programs

Health

Through intense case management and strategic partnerships, we seek to follow the changes for the following items:

  • Participants connected to a primary care provider
  • participants who have been seen by their primary care provided in the last year
