USI Supporting Baltimore City

USI is leading the effort to help craft a new vision for communities in Baltimore. Currently, USI supports families in the Perkins Homes neighborhood and GLOW place-based site. USI has connected with place-based resources in the pillars of health, economic mobility, housing stability, and education. Between both sets of communities, USI has been focused on increasing community presence, connecting families to supportive programs, and building trust and rapport to ensure families are on the path to move to stable and thriving.

About Our Work

Propelling Educational Success
USI works with various partners like Bedtime in a Box, Baltimore Healthy Start, Perkins Youth Council, Art With A Heart, Math Motivators, Boys & Girls Club, and Get In The Game are several partners that empower our youth to become successful leaders academically, holistically, and develop social emotional learning skills within their communities.

Improving Health and Wellness
USI supports improving community health by ensuring every resident has access to primary, preventative, and behavioral health healthcare programs along with access to nutritious foods and the elimination of food insecurity.

Moving Families to Economic Self-
Sufficiency

By partnering with organizations that address our residents’ barriers as well as providing options to further their chances of becoming more self-sufficient is essential in areas relative to increasing household income, assets, training, and employment. These tenants are central to USI’s mission.

Family Supportive Services
USI will continue our efforts to engage, support, advocate, and empower all families to become self-sufficient and achieve positive outcomes. We are able to continue this great work in addressing resident barriers through the generosity and commitment of our valued community partners.
